About me
Kim Von Ahsen has been working in the laboratory profession almost 25 years. Currently she serves as the Laboratory Quality and Safety Specialist for UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Clinical Laboratories. She is responsible for Quality Management System and Safety Programs of three hospital-based laboratories and one independent reference laboratory. Prior to this position, she held the role of Manager of Client Services for 15 years.
In addition to work, Kim is an active member American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) since 2004. She has served on the ASCLS Board of Directors for 9 years including serving as the President of ASCLS from 2022-2023.
When not busy with laboratory activities, Kim is an avid soccer fan and can be found traveling the US and aboard supporting the United States National Soccer teams or more locally, at Sporting Kansas City or KC Current match.
